The Impact of ZEGG on its Surroundings
As I was sitting on the terrace of the ZEGG restaurant, I looked up and beheld this beautiful double-arched rainbow. The photo doesn’t do it justice as in reality it was so much more majestic. As I was pondering this rainbow overarching the entire area, it struck me as a symbol for the ZEGG community
Arrival at ZEGG
I’m currently staying at ZEGG, which is a lively community of more than a hundred people located about an hour’s train ride from Berlin. The Community Research Project is an initiative that wants to develop a greater understanding of the principles of community and create more awareness of the experience and knowledge gained by long-term intentional communities all over the world.
What is an Intentional Community?

The COMMUNITY RESEARCH PROJECT is a private, non-academic and independent enterprise by SUSANNE RATKA.
This project is scientifically accompanied by Prof. Shabnam Mousavi of Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin. The selection criteria, catalog of questions and interview procedures of the field study are based on objective scientific standards.
