An eco-village in India, at the turn of the local traditions and the new eco-friendly philosophy
Siddharth Village was established in 1986. The center of the community is located 25 km from Bhubaneswar, the capital of the region of Orissa in eastern India. 14 people living there, often surrounded by volunteers who stay for short or long periods .

The Community Research Project is an initiative that wants to develop a greater understanding of the principles of community and create more awareness of the experience and knowledge gained by long-term intentional communities all over the world.
What is an Intentional Community?
"A group of people who have chosen to live together with a common purpose, working cooperatively to create a lifestyle that reflects their shared core values."
TEACHING BY EXAMPLE
"Ecovillages are small cells who take it up on themselves to live the ecologically responsible life, and by example spread the good practice."

This project is scientifically accompanied by Prof. Shabnam Mousavi of Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin. The selection criteria, catalog of questions and interview procedures of the field study are based on objective scientific standards.
